The preparation of Triethylhexanoin/Glyceryl tri(2-ethylhexanoate) cas:7360-38-5 involves adding 2-ethylhexanoic acid, glycerol, cyclohexane (or xylene), and p-toluenesulfonic acid to a reactor equipped with a stirrer, thermometer, reflux condenser, and water separator. Heat and stir to dissolve the solid. After the solid dissolves, keep stirring at a constant speed. When the temperature reaches around 90 ℃, reflux begins and is maintained for 1-5 hours until no more water is generated and the reaction is complete. Then cool to room temperature, add an appropriate amount of saturated NaHCO3 solution (or sodium carbonate solution), let it stand and separate the organic layer.
