Medium chain triglycerides MCT

Medium chain triglycerides (MCT) are triglycerides formed by esterification of medium chain fatty acids containing 6-12 carbon atoms with glycerol. The most typical MCT refers to the complex of saturated caprylic acid triglycerides, saturated decanoic acid triglycerides, and saturated caprylic decanoic acid triglycerides. MCT has the characteristics of low melting/boiling point, small relative molecular weight, and low density. It is a colorless and odorless oily liquid at room temperature, easily soluble in water and body fluids, and has good compatibility with various organic solvents, oils, and various fat soluble vitamins. Under normal circumstances, the MCT density is about 0.94-0.96g/ml (20 ° C), the acid value is ≤ 0.1mg/g, the saponification value is about 325-350mg/g, and the viscosity is 24-32 (Pa · s, 20 ° C). Compared with ordinary oils and hydrogenated oils, its antioxidant stability is better.
